View Full Version : Breastfeeding and diving - does this mix - any hidden dangers?
I'm trying to find out about diving while breastfeeding and having a lot of trouble finding any concrete info. Can anyone help. My baby is now 6 months old and I would like to slowly get back to some diving. Has anyone else been in this situation, any tips or things to be awareof. Would appreciate any help. THANKS

When my daughter was 5 -10 months old, my wife was diving whilst still feeding the baby.
I have asked her about this and she says that there were no great problems at all. The only thing that happened was that quote " quite a lot of leakage occured during the dive"....and I don't think she meant through the drysuit seals!!
So plenty of pads were "consumed" and a little tip was to feed the baby just before closing the drysuit..(this also kept the Grandparent baby-sitters happy as the baby was not in a grump)
By the way, she will be 10 in December and generally seems ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (as far as a 10 yr old girl can be!)

Dave.
Thanks for the quick reply Dave, I shall keep all the tips in mind and watch out for that extra leakage!!!!
Now at least I'm not too worried about going back to diving.
