Hi danjoe,

The buddy has done approximately 30 dives in both salt and fresh water, mainly salt. The BCD is in good condition however with little wear and well washed/maintained after diving. The material isnt too hard or salt stained, very comfortable on.

When not in use, it has been stored with positive pressure, and holds air like new. At capernwray this week end, it was used on a 18meter ish, 30min (17.6 for 29mins i think) ish dive and was fine.

(both buddy BCD's have been maintainedin the same manner and used at capernwray this weekend to test out)

I will get the camera tonight and will put the pic's up or if that doesnt work, PM me a e-mail address.

cheers,
john

Hiya,

Can you supply photos and details (price, size, # dives, etc) of the Mares Dragon if it's still available.

Thanks.

Will do, it will have to wait till tomorrow night, if thats ok as the BCD and the camera are in quite different houses.
A bit of imformation however if and when he decides to go to a 'commando-

He (my living-in buddy) is wanting a cheaper than usual price, as in a moment of lax attention he managed to lose one of the the intigrated weight pouches, as a result its only got one. They are easy to replace, costing around £30 for a replace set, the price will very duly reflect that however.

The stab has been used on approximately 20 dives, around 12-15 of those salt but i (sucker which i am) washed it down well after each use. As a result its in a very good condition.

Its a size L

Still interested?

Hi John,

Thanks - so far so good! :) can I ask the reason for the upgrade to Commando?

I went into a dive store and tried a Medium and Large on, the Medium was a comfortable/snug fit but the dive instructor who was helping said a Large would be better as it would allow for more room to move, especially if I intended to use a dry suit at any time - which I hope to once I do the course.

Also could you ask him if the manual is still available and in good condition (readable at least) - I know it's only done a few dives but has it been serviced at all... I assume there's no operational problems.

I'm pretty new at all this (not least diving) so excuse all the questions :)

Thanks

Hi scaryant,

Not a worry, im not an old hand at this either...

There wasnt a manual really, as far as i kno, but the tag thing that most BCD's have to say things lke lift et al is still attached.

It works fully, except the already missing weight pocket, but otherwise is fully operational and has recently been for a dip in the sea to no effect. As a result, it hasnt been serviced, its less than a year old and has less that 100 dives anyway.

The reason he is thinking of moving to a 'commando is that the commando is pink (which he likes...dont ask me) and also fits his personally better he reckons. He has a weight harness now, so the intigrates of the Dragon aint needed as much, so he figures a 'normal' buddy is possibly more suitable. have to see.
