View Full Version : Outboard advice
Afternoon all. I'm currently having something of a nightmare trying to get a slightly troubled Suzuki outboard running sweetly...and was wondering if any of you may have any thoughts on a reliable organisation around the Yorkshire area who can fix outboard's?
Had some bad experiences on this, so any good encounters with reliable people would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Lee

I have used 3 companies in Yorkshire to get outboards maintainted.
Currently I use Pennine Marine in Skipton. Mainly cos they are Yamaha Dealers. Incidentally they are also Suzuki Dealer too.
Pennine have always been fine for me. 01756 792335
I have used Supreme Marine in Ossett to get older stuff sorted. I found them very quick, good and reasonable. 01924 275413
I have used the Rodley boat centre in Leeds (if there had been ouboard maintenace workshops in Dickens time, then it would have looked like the rodley boat centre.)
They took about 7 months to sort out a very small mariner outboard. I wouldn't go back there, It was however a few years ago.
Have you used a company that was not so good?
All the best
Gary
Thanks Gary. Skipton are looking like they're worth a call from what you've said.
In answer to your last question, yes, myself and the club have had a couple of poor experiences with so-called specialist companies...the latest of which involved someone carrying out shoddy work which they flagged up as a problem when the boat went back for a seperate fault a couple of months later. The best bit was they then denied doing the work and blamed me for carrying it out myself. Needless to say I'm not in a hurry to go back to them, though would like to find a reliable replacement before saying too much more.
Any other thoughts from people still much appreciated.
