Hi everyone,

Joined BSAC and BSAC forum today.

I am originally a SAA diver, club has closed so i am looking for a new club based in the North East, any suggestions?

I am a club diver, training to be a dive leader, does anyone know what level I would come over to BSAC at?

Been diving 3ish years and try to dive every weekend and get as many diving holidays per year as possible.

PS - Liveaboard diving in Red Sea 5th June, do you think a 3mm full suit will be warm enough??? Normally wear a 5mm in Red Sea but have only been in Apr previously

Hi , well according to the Salt table that gives the equivalent bsac grade, its sports diver. You can continue to dive with your SAA qualification and order the D/L crossover pack when you have completed that training you would get a BSAC D/L qualification. I think that right , but I am sure I will soon be corrected if I am not :)

suggest you contact a few as different clubs offer different training nights at different venues with focus on different types of diving etc.... sure you can find one (or like me, two!) clubs that suit!

I'd be wearing 3mm full suit in June in Red Sea (possibly even thinking about a shortie)

There are plenty of SAA clubs in the North East. The North East region rep will be able to point you at the closest club. His email is nrep at saa.org.uk
