hi folks,
right, this is a bit of a mind bender in one sence.
does any one know the rules/laws for bouying locations in coastal waters and where i might be able to find them and seek advice for some activities i am planning?
cheers,
john
I would suggest contacting Trinity House. They are responsible for safety of shipping in UK waters (since 1514).
This includes maintaining bouyage & lighthouses, mind you if you need them to help you with a lighthouse then it would be an interesting activity.
If you want to add your own bouyage, see this link (http://www.trinityhouse.co.uk/aids_to_navigation/the_task/local_aids_to_navigation.html), annex 2.

Hi,
You might want to touch base with Crown Estates (http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/home.htm) as they manage a large proportion (if not all) the coastline.

Be aware that many beaches are privatly owned or under council control, may need to talk to the local ? reginal council as well.
Alot will depend on what you want to do and how far off land.

As in 'my lobster pot here'?
I didn't think there were any regulations provided you don't look like an official buoy.

i dont care for lobsters or crabs, but lets say that 'the lobster pot bouys' will be more than one and scattered with 30 meters a ideal depth.
cheers folks,
john
