Have you read the article and seen the photos?
I want to dive it quick before other people do.
Who is with me on this? We need a plan and mine is this...
1. Locate Peter Collings
2. Tickle him until he tells us where it is exactly - we need co-ordinates!
3. Book some low cost late deal flights.
4. Hijack one of the liveaboards with water pistols whilst wearing hoods for secrecy
5. Proceed to exact co-ordinates under cover of the night.
6. Spend the next few days diving it before being taken directly to jail with passing 'go' or collecting £200 .
Anyone up for it? It looks great... those fab lifeboats still tethered etc etc.
best wishes,
Maria

Maria,
If you do meet Peter, you won't forget him. He's quite a character.

Excellent - who knows where Peter Collings is? Do we a a tickling feather ready? Either that, or, get the next person in Egypt to start asking boat crews for the location of Pride of Al Salam 95. The post-holder for this job will of course be required to wear a deerstalker and carry a magnifying glass.;)
So - info so far
local fisherman found it
it is in the Gulf of Suez
it is 135m long laying on port side
depth35m on port, 20m on starboard
lifeboats hanging/floating at 16m
compass binnacles etc in place
bets wishes,
Maria

I'm sorry ladies, but I see a flaw in your cunning plan.
I think you will find its sitting in clearish warm water and as rufty tufty uk divers I find it shocking you may succumb to such pleasures! :o
Please refocus your attention to such matters as undiscovered areas of sea bed no larger than 1mt square aroun the uk please ;)
Sorry but unable to resist Maria.
Although sinking in the approaches to the southern entrance to the Suez Canal, the wreck of the Pride of Al Salam 95 has not blocked the canal and is now marked by buoys.
Come on theres a bit of a clue here, start looking, wheres your sense of adventure?;)

Like your plan - it is apparently a fab dive and off the beaten track ...
Further re your plan:
1. He's currently diving in the Red Sea
2. May not work - he'd enjoy it too much!!

Aah... now this is one of my failings... I downloaded GoogleEarth and the diving overlay previously. Completely failed to read any instructions. Failed to make it work. Downloaded Google Chrome that it seemed to suggest was necessary....and then the BSAC forum didn't work properly:eek: so I had to take it all off again.
Is it on there? Really????
best wishes,
Maria

Hi! Sorry - he is diving on a liveaboard - not sure of the route they are doing ...
There is diving in that area - I have done the SS Turkia (WWII wreck - same size as Thistlegorm, bombed a few days later - much better condition - covered in corals etc ...) also a few others enroute up there. Not a lot of liveaboards go that far north ... this one was a trip I happened to book which turned out to be one run by Peter Collings. It was a fab trip diving lot that was off the beaten track ...

Thanks for that - I've emailed them as I couldn't work out whether they actually have any scheduled in Suez or not. Also very interested in those wrecks mentioned in the South!
Have a green for that splendid bit of info:D :D :D

Pitty "Snapper" can'tmake either of them-she really loves her wrecks and photography!
Hmmm seems a lot of poeple have difficulty contactiing me
I doubt it. I suspect everyone who wants to contact you has already done so.
You've been a member here for just a few days, and you've spammed to fora 4 times - that is 100% of your postings.
It amazes me that the Mods haven't already nuked your account.
You might think you're being incredibly tricksy, with such subtle disguises for your shameless plugs - but we've seen it all before. Such behaviour changes the way you are perceived: no longer merely "parasite", but "deceitful parasite". that's probably not something you really want for your company.
