having recently purchased a uk light cannon (not cheap) only to find it lighting intermittantly sent it back to underwater kinnetics to be told they found no faults with the torch next dive took it out only for it to give up the ghost at 32m just when i needed it most, on the surface opened it up to find a perfect hole in the bulb , I assume that this was possibly the problem (a faulty bulb)on the other occasions but this dive had finnaly finished it off now imagine my horror when i was informed that a replacement bulb would be over ?70 !!!!
this in my opinion is an extreme p-ss take.
has anyone else had this problems withthe light cannon or views on this
p.s.
Their a terrific torch when working

Two bods in my club have them, one found it very easy to flood, the other had a bulb go within warranty.

Both are now sweating....

I bought 1 a year ago and then splashed out on the rechargable battery option. Promptly lost it though!

Now on second one with no dramas. I know the HID bulb is expensive but they are meant to last longer!!? I carry mine like its an egg as its the impact thats the killer on this type of plasma based system. I did have a problem when using c cells as any but duracell don't have a concave base and need additional tin foil to complete circuit! I just turn it on and dive as the 4 hour burn time and 30 second warm up time make that the best option.

Hope this helps

I had the bulb go on mine after 3 months, which I then cracked trying to get it out for a closer look - not a smart thing to do!

I thought I might have a problem coz I'd cracked it but the manufacturers were great and sent a new front end by return. No problems since (6 months), I love the light it gives.

My UK Light Cannon is about a year old and there have been several occasions when it did not light. I contacted UK in the USA who advised me to make sure the bulb was seated correctly. I now put it on before I decsend and leave it on for the dive, but I do also carry a back up just in case it fails. When it works it is a great light, but don't drop it on a concrete floor as I did this weekend! Mine also flooded after a week's usage in Gozo and now I am paranoid over not closing it tightly enough.
