Are there any Advanced Instructors who can supervise/sign-off
the rescue exercise for the pre-sept. 2002 AD course ?
Have buddy lined up who needs same. We don't have an AI in our
club so need help with this one.

I did not think you needed an AI just an NQI/AD

Correct - just NQI and AD - Where ru - I dint mind doing it.

a) CBL from 20 to 6.

b) AAS ascent from 6 to surface.

c) Tow and AV (Approx 25 Meters)

d) Land And dekit with AV

e) CPR and O2 Admin.

Easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought there was a rescue management part as well, in that from d onwards you don't do you manage others - could be wrong, trying to find time to do mine at the moment, only thing left for AD :-)

Hi Steve,
I'm DO of Dacorum SAC based in Hemel Hempstead and we've got a few people needing to do precisely this at the moment.....BTW, it does include a rescue management scenario.
You're welcome to come along if we do one soon....it'll be either an AI or AD/OWI assessing.
Contact me if you're interested, you're very close to us. Would want to know your DO was happy with it though!
Lindsey.

There is a rescue mangement element to it

The tow is only 10 metres

There is no AAS element nor O2 element

The requirements are

PART 1 : Rescue Skills Assessment

Descend a shot line to 20m

The student should lift his buddy from 20m to 6m using the Controlled buoyant lift technique. The lift should be made using the shotline as a datum marker.

The lift should be halted at 6m for an ascent check and a normal ascent made to the surface

The rescue is resumed at the surface.

provide surface buoyancy , apply AV and summon help. Remove unwanted equipment and tow the casualty 10 metres to a point of safety giving regular ventilations during the tow.

PART 2 : Rescue Management Assessment

This assessment aims to simulate a diving emergency where the student is one of a shore/boast cover party of 4 who are faced with another diver surfacing and summoning help for a non-breathing/pulseless casualty. The diver will tow the casualty 10m to the shore/boat but the rescue assement will begin from moment help is summoned.

The rescue manager should put into practice the skills gained on the PRM course.

The Practical Assessment may be signed off on successful completion of all parts of the Rescue Skills and Rescue Management Test

To the OP, if you are in the south west, I can run the assessment for you should you desire
