Hi all
Just lloking for some advice on a wetsuit. I'm looking at a Cressi Lontra 7mm plus 5mm overjacket (with hood). I'll be using it for occasional UK dives. Does/has anyone own a Cressi wetsuit, and are they any good?

If it is one of the ones with the 'superstretch' neoprene on joint areas they are good - my DH has one. Prefer 'Waterproof' myself though (down Christian!)
best wishes,

:D i remember that remark too, well remembered maria :)
waterproof are supposed to be nice suits.
i hear nice things about the aqualung balanced comforts 5.5 semi full suit and a 5.5 shorty with hood, retail for around 250. well, thats how much they were when i bought one, might be cheaper.
cressi has a 'like' glide skin stuff when i used them over new year in spain, was ok, no issue.

I would go for the wetsuit with the best fit, irrespective of the manufacturer. You'll find that different companies have slightly different interpretations of (say) XL, so fine the one that is closest to your body.

OK cheers guys - will give the LDS a ring tomorrow and get one ordered in to try on - I bought a 5mm 2piece (long john/jacket) which I've changed my mind on, but as this ones more expensive I'm sure they'll be happy to help!:)

My advice is for the UK rather than spend a lot of money on a new wetsuit, spent about £50 more on a 2nd hand drysuit. Wetsuits in my view are not for UK diving at all any time of year.
IMHO (not wanting to start world war 3)-
I am happy in my Scubapro 5mm Profile 'wettie' & 5mm Hooded Shortie In the colder months, and look forward to ditching the shortie by late May.
The only time I'm cold is when I take the suit off and am in the cold open air (don't do this often as I change in the van).
I have been diving this set-up for the last 5months on the South coast, Vobster and Chepstow Quarry, with Water Temp as low as 6*.
No Problem for me, but we're all different.
Back to your question: I agree on going with a suit that fits, dont worry about the manufacturer!

Jeez! I bought a Northern Diver Semi Delta Flex just before Christmas - Havent dared take it near the water yet!
go for the aqualung balance comfort, have used mine as late as end of november.warm as toast in the water.always take it incase a seal go,s on my dry suit.

Appreciate the comments, I don't want to get a dry suit yet as I am new to diving and would prefer to get my open water dives done in a wettie, and build up my confidence before trying dry suits. I'm not really decided whether I want to do much uk diving yet anyway - although definately will in a few years with more experience.
I've now ordered a Cressi Comfort plus 5mm, plus 5mm shortie. Fits really well, and a few other customers in the shop highly recomended it. Also has the advantage that I can just take the all in one piece for diving abroad in the warmer climates!
Thanks all!
