found the O2 administration section really helpful and already signed up for one of my dive clubs difib course! Also found the BLS refresher with O2 plus pocket mask really intersting/useful too! Found the exam quite difficult, but then again found OD and SD quite difficult (I'm just crap at exams!)
this time next week will be in sharm for 8 days diving - hoping to get some of the practicals done whilst out there!
sorry - just wanted to express my joy in learning as well as diving!!!!
Anyone with any tips/advice/stories regarding the DL practicals - love to hear them!!!

Congratulations :)
Passed my Sport Diver theory last week - just need to shift this chest infection so I can get back in the water and finish my last two open water dives!! :(
Congratulations
Enjoy the course, but most importantly, enjoy the diving.
Taking on the role as Diveleader for a inexperienced diver teaches you a huge amount about your own ability & makes you re-examine your own views. It is also tremendous fun.

Many thanks to everyone (including a certain "cheeky" mr "brian!", somewhere on the south coast, lol!) - - when i passed the OD course 2 years ago said at the time, "this is where the real learning starts" - then this time last year passed the SD course and said the same thing! Really 2008 as an SD taught me a heck of a lot (including Brian's boathandling course, and NO, i didnt cheat Bri!!!!) - never has that phrase been more apt - the qualification to take friends from the club diving on my responsibility. I love learning and realising how little a actually know about stuff! I also love responsibility and so have been shadowing DL's in the club and getting involved in organising dive days/trips etc (to some extent!).....looking forward to learning even more and getting more directly involved!
onwards and "downwards!"
:-P
cheers!

cheers Bri! whats next? well, need to knock out the practicals, then really just want to go diving as a DL and help out the OD's and SD' mates in my two clubs who just wanna get wet in a muddy puddle on a weekend! I know how hard it is when you're "young, green and keen" to get the older more experienced members of the club to take you to quarries! I actually really enjoy them as cheppy and cromhall are no more than an hour from me! So easy to do on a weekend and not as half as busy as "other" well known inland freshwater dive sites for parking etc!!!! Already got name down for difib course to enhance the first aid skills i will get thru DL....
Want to get more hours boathandling, then would be interested in the advanced - - defo interested in VHF radio course (ex RAF 10 years elec. airfield comms/radar HNC here - including mountain comms/air defence radar in the falklands! - so interested to see difference in marine comms etc!)
Always interested in SDC's.....but realise i need to get experience as a DL too!
cheers ears!!

well done chris!!! shake that cold and go enjoy the practicals! I certainly learnt loads more after passing OD and learnt even more after SD, so suspect the learning curve will get even steeper after successful completion of DL (if i work hard enough and lucky to pass it all!) - hope you find completion of SD and subsequent experience as enjoyable and as intersting as i did....
