I am thinking of having a week or so diving in November in Tofo, Mozambiqe, staying at the Hotel Tofo Mar and diving with Diversity Divers. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience that they can pass on in relation to any part of what I have in mind?
Many thanks.

There is an article about South Africa and Mozambique in today's Sunday Times Travel section.
I was in Tofo last November with and we dived out of Diversity although we were also a self contained group. Not sure I have much to say but the set seemed professional enough. I get the feeling that a lot of business is backpackers. They did try a rather annoying trick of sticking a videographer on the boat on our last dive but it was soon made clear that we were not interested at all.
I assume you know that all dives are surf launches - we lost our first dive as a result of the condictions not being suitable to launch but otherwise it was fine.
An odd thing was that we saw no Mantas on any dives - Devil Rays yes, Mantas no. We heard from someone doing a PHd on Mantas and working of Tofo that she had not sighted any for two weeks which she found very odd.

I spent a year out tere diving with Diversity studying whalesharks and mantas, go, the diving is great fun, even if you don't see the big stuff there's plenty of little stuff to see.
Diversity are professional and safe, the staff very helpful and knowledgable.
Be aware the launches can be quite rough as you have to manhandle the boat from the beach into the sea. Also, avoid full moon as all the anecdotal evidence points towards them not being around for the week surrounding it.
Great diving, though!
