If as an instructor, you have a problem keeping track of student progress, you might like to read the following...
Consider the usual problems of branch training - not all lessons get completed in the time available, and not all students or instructors can make it week after week / dive site after dive site to provide continuity. Even those that do can't always remember what they did last week :)
So - we (my branch) use a student training log that mirrors the elements of each lesson, and the instructor can sign off parts of the lesson, or comment as appropriate during the debrief. When each sheet is complete the qualification book gets signed.
This does seem to save some confusion, and the student knows exactly where they are up to.
If anybody would like copies of these sheets I have them in MS word format and can email them, or just follow the link to download them from the "files" section.
...and of course - any errors, please let me know!
