Hi there,
Can anyone advise me on how I can hire a projector for use with a laptop for club presentations. Our club cannot afford to fund the purchase of one at present.
Thanks
Sandra

Where are you, where do you do the presentations? You can often borrow them if you find someone who's got one - anyone in the club work for a company who has one, or you in a sports centre with a projector, anything like that? Or a basic OHP will probably be easier to find and is perfectly adequate, powerpoint is nice to have but not essential.

Hiring one commerically would likely work out expensive, and a waste of club funds in my opinion. If you're doing a full day of classroom work it might be just about ok, but hiring one for an evening for a 1 hour session wouldn't be very economical. Depending on how many people you have, you might be able to use a large monitor connected to the computer, or even just the computer itself. Many TVs can be connected to laptops, and are generally fine for powerpoint presentations with no small writing. If there's just a couple you can just use printouts of the slides, you don't need to use powerpoint at all.

All depends on your own circumstances, but there are a lot of options before going looking for a commercial hire projector.

Have you tried your Regional Coach?

Some regions (most?) have laptops & projectors for regional courses. Some regions let them out for branch presentations...
