Just got back from diving at Dosthill this morning. Found a big pike plug trapped in the boards on one of the training platforms.
I showed it to the DC Staff & they said that they knew there was a bit of a problem recently.
The thing is, how do you stop it? Now most anglers I know are environmentally friendly & responsible and if the sign says 'No fishing' then they know not to fish there.
But there's always a few b*st*rds out there who can't take no for an answer.
Plus I'd hate to see a diver get caught on one of those big plugs.
I reckon Dozzi must be quite a well balanced environment as it is now. This morning we saw several Pike, from small juveniles to real big muthas, plenty of healthy looking Perch, Roach etc and I'm always fascinated by the little fresh water mussels. I know the Koi & the other Carp shouldn't really be there but it all seems to work.
I'd hate to see anything happen to ruin it.
Nigel
BTW: I do occasionally go fishing myself, rod and line, always legally & only if it's for the pot.
