Hi All,
I have (finally) decided to get try and get my Adv Diver signed off over the winter. I started a long time ago and as such am on the old SDC-based version. I have completed all relevant SDC's and only have the practical bits and the exam to do.
My question is, could anyone give me an outline of what is required for the practical section I still need to do? I assume there are some lifts (depth?) and tows, anything else?

Just in case this applies to you; if you have Advanced Lifesaver award, you do not have to do the rescue assessment.
The rescue assessment has 2 sections
In the 1st, you need to perform a CBL from 18m to 6m and then, once on the surface , you need to make casualty buoyant and tow with AV for 10 (ten) metres and then exit to boat
The 2nd part is a rescue management scenario on a boat in the same vein as covered on a PRM course
The theory exam is not dissimilar to the DL exam with a few differences. There are , iirc, 28 regular multiple guess questions on general topics. There are 4 general 4 point sentence answer questions ( one of which is designed to be got wrong if you actually answer the question asked rather than the one intended - at least there is on the one I have ) . There is then a section B with 2 questions of which you have to answer 1. The questions have 2 multiple guess questions and 1 4 point question. One question is on BH and one on CPH. There is a section C with the same format , just that the questions are based on SR and ADT.

Cheers, seems straightforward enough. Stoney for the day it is then...
