Thinking of trying out Chepstow this weekend but wondered how busy it is on a Saturday this time of year? Don't want to be queing to get in the water longer than it will take me to drive there!!

Was going to ring them but they were closed today and trying to get trip finalised this evening - I know, leaving it to the last minute etc etc.

Does anyone have any experience of Chepstow on a chilly Saturday morn in late October??

Many thanks

It'll be busy as sea blown out again. Vis maybe poor as well due to rainfall this week.

I doubt you'll have to wait more than 5-10 mins max for transport to and from the water.

Also, this Saturday is the Halloween night dive which will make it a little busier than usual before.

Thanks Richard, I might postpone for a week then.

Was there last Saturday. It was not particularly busy, no waiting for the bus and at lunchtime we more or less had the water to ourselves. Viz was a bit patchy maybe around 2mtrs or so in places up to 6mtrs+ in other places

Worth mentioning in Chepstow the vis is ALWAYS better deeper. Once you drop below 35m it often opens out into dark and clear.

Going to the training areas and attractions after 4 days of students being dragged through it whilst its raining heavily isn't really going to produce great vis :)

The vis in Chepstow today was stunning at all levels, it will decrease throughout the weekend due to the trainees in the corner

There are two large and I meen large Pike just of the pontoon at 4.5 mtr close to the beach area, ideal at the end of the dive to have a look at

It will be reasonably busy Sat but no problem transport wise as there are two vans constantly running up and down

Have fun if you go
