going to the rez on the the 9th november, with my club. any one been and got any interesting points etc to add? such as layout, stories and the like....if anyone has even heard of the place that is:rolleyes:
think it be good to have a set of loggs about dive sites around the UK to inform people going there fresh about said sites.
thanks folks.
Entry is interesting. Inside is dark and good for laying line and lights out drills. I have dived there twice (4 dives in all). Only issue is the 2M depth as my fins wanted to peep out on the surface all the time :)
Great couple that run it. Excellent food. Good day out and we tried some skills before a dive in Hodge close soon after so it was great for that.
Certainly worth doing.

Don't take a mahoosive torch.
Try and be first in before everyone kicks up the viz.
Try some line laying.
Get lost.
Turn your torch off for a few mins and see what happens :)
Which res are you talking about, Vobster?
Its a great Rez for practising skills etc.

Not sure I agree with that.
If its your first time in, take your torch no matter what size it is, 12m+ you will wish you had it :)
Again, if its your first time in, and your with an experienced diver, I personally wouldnt recommend laying lines, just use the dives as an experience.
Before you kit up, study an overview map of the lake, plan to visit a couple of key points and be sure to take compass bearings.
It will be patches of really low visibility and other patches of reasonable vis, for me it made it more exciting.
Be sure to know what compass bearings your heading on, and always remember, trust your compass!
I personally enjoy the really low vis dives, espically if its a night dive. Its great for navigation practise.
You will feel the thermoclines at around 11m, 18m onwards is bloody cold. I've only managed 26m, so wrap up nice and warm.
Going from 20m to 10m will make you feel like your in a warm bath :)
www.therezuk.net I think this is the place referred to.
