View Full Version : SDC Equivalences
I'm trying to find a list of what lectures/practical lessons get automatically signed off when you do SDC's. Can anyone point me in the direction of one?
If there is no complete list the two SDC's I am particularly interested in are DPM and PRM so if anyone knows the answers to those two that would still help enomously
Cheers

For PRM its DT9, DT10 DT11 and DO5 see <a href="http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/pracrescuemgt.htm" >http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/pracrescuemgt.htm</a>
there arn't any for DPM see <a href="http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/divemarsh.htm" >http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/divemarsh.htm</a> as Dive Planning is now part of SD, DL and AD training.

So if you have done the above and you have done the Oxygen Administration as i beleive that this SDC also can count towards your Dive Leader Training , whats left to do in branch re lectures , or does the DO just sign you up and all you have to do is the practical lessons in open water .
Also what other SDC's count towards lectures / training dives to help gain your diver grades .

In answer to your question please see <a href="http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/oxygenadmin.htm" >http://www.bsac.org/techserv/syllabus/oxygenadmin.htm</a> for O2.
For all SDCs see <a href="http://www.bsac.org/techserv/sdc/syllabusintro.htm" >http://www.bsac.org/techserv/sdc/syllabusintro.htm</a> .
It is the SDC Instructor who signs the lessons off not your DO.

With O2 & PRM done, lectures etc. left are ........
THE ROLE OF THE DIVE LEADER
DIVE PLANNING
HELICOPTER OPERATIONS
THE ROLE OF THE DIVE MARSHAL
THEORY TEST
Some may argue that Helicopter Ops are part of PRM, but it's
never covered in as much detail.

True, you have to extend just a tad. However, I find the RNLI video "Deep Trouble" excellent for that purpose and employ it within PRM.
