Sorry to bring this up again..but ive just recieved this from an area coach

"Are you aware that if you are completing the Advanced Diver training on the 'old' syllabus (through SDC's) then that training MUST be completed before September (not quite sure if it's 'end' of September"

seams there IS a cut off date ? Are we in the yorkshire region the only ones who DONT know and havent heard of this ??

No I've not heard about it and as it effects people in my branch I think it would be quiet important to know about it via an official notice

From : <a href="http://www.bsac.org/technical/dtp/dtpintro.htm" >http://www.bsac.org/technical/dtp/dtpintro.htm</a>

"As with any update to a training system, it will take some time for complete transition on to the new system. For this reason the BSAC have decided that, where divers have partially completed training for a particular grade, there is no time limit for the balance of the training for that grade to be completed before transitioning to the new scheme."

I am worried that the SDC's that are part of the old syllabus will be phased out. For the reasons i stated in my other post (in the time is running out thread) I feel that this may be a bad move.

The SDC, will not be phased out as they are / will still be offered if divers/ clubs wish to run them.

I understood there was no cut off date and I take it, reading this thread, there is NO cut off date. Wolfy maybe you should bring this to the attention of your area coach
