Does anyone know if BSAC have any plans to release a new sport diver manual, theres a new ocean one and new dive leader one but nothing to accompany the sport diver course apart from the old sport diver manual are trainees expected to purchase this to go with the course?

I was under the impression that "The Diving Manual" was intended to service both OD & SD: "The Diving Manual is an essential text for the new diver and will provide useful information throughout diver training and beyond";
then "Dive Leading" covered DL and above: "Dive leading is an essential text for those divers who are on the path to becoming a dive leader and it will remain a useful source of information throughout their diving lifetimes."

The old "Sport Diving" is available for a tenner

I'll be recommending my trainee SDs to buy the new Dive Leading manual when they start SD...it covers a lot of the syllabus that Diving Manual doesn't!

To quote from the sales blurb "...aims to take just-qualified divers through to Dive Leaders..."
I found it an excelent book and recommended it to all our new sports trainees.
For the D/L trainees it covers things not in the old Sports Diver Manual, such as Nitrox & rebreathers.
