Just a thought, - do I pack my pool gear for the IFC course, I understand it is a course designed to help you to teach, but I was not too sure if that meant getting wet or not.

thanks

Yeah you need full pool kit, you'll be teaching a 10 minute (or thereabouts) lesson in the pool. If you've got a wetsuit i'd take that too, theres a lot of getting in and out and standing around and you'll be in the pool quite a while.

You should get something from BSAC HQ a week or so before you are due to go, telling you what to take, where you're going etc.

Rich,

I completed my IFC a few weeks ago and yes - there is some pool work.

There are two 2-hour sessions, but there is a lot of standing around so a pool shortie is advisable.

All this should be explained in the joining instructions you should recieve from BSAC about 2 weeks before the event.

One other point, when the instructions say 'take full diving kit including an AAS' they mean single cylinder, BCD etc, You must also have an octopus fitted.
This may sound obvious but you've got to wear what a student would be wearing, so no twinsets!.

Good luck with the course, I actually found it enjoyable.
