under the new system are you restricted to 35m untill you complete your training? it seams to imply this, but dosnt say for sure

i was under the impression that in the old system you could progress to 50m as part of your training, with an instructor of course, is this correct?

and what are the implications in taking a trainee a bit deeper than there qualification levle?
say for example you have a very experianced sports diver and are planning a 38-40m dive, you know they are capable of doing the dive and have an nqi to buddy them

Under the old system, being Dive Leader gave a depth limit of 50m. Hopefully people who have completed DL would have the sense to be able to progress in a sensible manner.

get ready to be sued if anything goes wrong would be my thought. Knowingly taking a trainee deeper than their certified depth would have to be a big no-no in my view.

Under the old system it was the same as the new - until you have finished your training and been signed off by the DO you are an Sport Diver. A Sport Diver is limited to 35m.
