I work for a marine conservation organisation and we are often looking for Dive Officers (DO) to work our on research programmes overseas. The DOs have to be qualified instructors and be experienced in instructing as well as boat handling and prferably have some technical knowledge. There official role is to manage all diving operations associated with the marine research programme, including the supervision of daily scuba and in-water activities and to ensure the proper maintenance of all dive equipment and boats.

Posts are for a 12 months and we provide flights, insurance, accommodation and a local wage, which is paid at the end of the contract.

Therefore I was wondering if anyone would be interested they should look at our web-site or does anyone have any ideas where we might find these new recruits.

But for people with a genuine interst in conservation, it's not about the money. I personally intend to do something like this at some point, but when you're a bit more "chronologically advanced" it's a tad harder to organize a year out.

I'm not against the operation, I've done two CCC and one RI expeditions in the last 10 years.

Agree with Edward...not against the program but they are going to give you a very responsible job and work the b*lls off you and for what? Grey hairs, shattered nerves and ?50 per month! Don't think I will be applying.
