I remember being told in a shop "once you have your BC, regulator, suit and a tank that is about it, from then on you only need air"
Currently I am on 2 BCD's, 5 regs, three suits and 7 tanks. Will almost certainly buy another two reg, suit and at least two tanks in the next six months. And I now expect to spend anything up to £100 on gas for a days diving.
So sorry no it does not get better

How much weight did you need and buy?? I was told once you bought your kit thats the expense over with apart from air and fuel, but I was never told that your diving evolves and with that your kit may change
I tend to look out for 2nd hand stuff nw as peopel tend to buy and give up quickly bargains to be had!

As Yazzy said...how much weight did you buy?!?! think you were ripped at a few hundred quid.... would have helped if you had said where abouts you live..if it is Devon I would have made the weights for you for the price of the lead and a cpl of beers

Think you might need more than a shorty! Forget the camera, buy a decent suit... dry suit that is!

In theory that makes my gas cheaper than yours but it doesn't seem to make my diving cheaper.

I really think so! you don't put the weight belt of ont he boat and bring it down with you!:D
I know lead is getting dear, but crikey, i'd expect to pay a tenner second hand for a small piles of 2kg weights and maybe a tenner for a top notch belt with a pint included.
