Yep, much prefer the BB style.

More on the graphics then the content.

Squint your eyes and just look at the colours on the screen. What sticks out
the most? It's mostly the turquoise background and that means the eyes
are fighting to look at text, while being drawn to the background order. I'll be
very surprised if this doesnt up the Neurophen sales amongst BSAC members!

The forum is based on shades of blue, but the background is too close to
green. This presents a visual contrast yes, but it also goes against basic
colour rules. A pastel version of any of the "blue" colours would still work, but
not be so in your face.

The other problem with this is that any solid blues tend to bleed into the
turquoise. So the hard colour blocks at the top start to look dirty or
semi-washed out.

If you are worried that it might not be enough contrast, just go for a lighter
version of thr same colour. Cant go wrong with that as they would all share
the same base.

Care to suggest a few RGB triplets Terry? Ie, the light blue is 204,255,255.

I agree with TerryH, the background colour does make it a bit hard to read the text, personally I do like the shades/tones of blue, they're quite relaxing and that's no bad thing. And it fits with the diving theme.
I think a background of pale blue such as RGB 213 227 255 would be easier on the eye than the current slightly greenish tone..
What about a custom background with a bit of texture? Dots or a fine grid?
Got a couple here:

I have updated the BSAC Master Style as Andy's suggestion.

The darker background is available as Test Changes.

I feel a poll coming on.
