Hello

I'm taking a trainee into the tropical waters of Capernwray (19'C last week) this evening to do Ocean Diver dives 4 and 5.

As our TO's run off with the training manual and I've not been able to contact him, could anyone kindly refresh my memory on what exercises I need to go through?

Thanks

Chris

OD4 is the Rescue Dive so, in addition to the main dive, you will need to do a Controlled Buoyant Lift on a "casualty" from 6 metres to the surface. On the surface, you then tow the casualty 25 metres.
OD5 is the "you are now a qualified OD, and with another OD are going on a dive without an instructor. You lead the dive, and check air, give/receive signals etc

Best of luck

Dave

Chris,

There is, beside Dave's description, the matter of assessing competence/confidence in -

OD4 Buddy monitoring in general, the leading of the exploratory dive (between 15m and 20m) and jettison of casualty weight.

OD5 Planning, buddy check, lead to 12-20m and jettison of own weight.
