Watched the programme last night and thought it very good (well I suppose I would, wouldn't I :D ).

Brought back a lot of memories. Excavating among a pile of stone cannonballs on the gundeck in low viz and finding one that had eye sockets .

Oh Maria! You will just have to forego a diving holiday to buy satellite TV! :p

I watched the programme on History 1 hour+ as I was out early evening. The programme was very interesting and a little long winded. Chris, Alex and Andy spoke very well. I liked the way Andy referred to Hugh Mongomery's thesis that many of the crew were Spanish sailors.

Basically, there appears to be a little evidence that the Mary Rose sinking could have been aided by a cannonball shot from a French Galley but as Chris Dobbs intimated at the end of the programme "you pays your money and you takes your choice" ;)

All good grist to the mill for the fund raising though. Only £14 mil to go.

Definite no to satellite TV - I never get to watch it anyway, it's all cbeebies, cbbc, citv or Dave in our house!

best wishes,

Maria
