You will not be in the water more than 15 to 20 mins.
Remember to plan time for a brief, kitting up, buddy check and debrief.
Good luck

It's also worth doing a dry run of the skill on the shore first.

When I did my OWIC there last year we used one of the seven smaller lakes which my log book records as being a massive 3m deep! Not sure how deep the main lake is but since they use that mainly for water skiing my guess is you'll be in one of the smaller lakes. Remember its about applying instructional techniques in the real world, so how you handle shallow water, dodgy access and egress, poor vis etc are all part of it.
Good luck
David

I must say a big thanks to all who went, both instructors and participants...it was a very enjoyable though hectic day.

The bit he enjoyed most was when one of his (female) co-students kept fondling his bum as she put him into the recovery position (I learned a new way to check if a casualty was conscious!)
On behalf of the Instructor Team ...thanks for helping make it such an enjoyable weekend for us too!
