Just a quick note about my recent holiday to Bali. We had booked to go here with some friends and decided that we would do a few dives while we were there. Booked to go to Nusa Penida with BIDP (Bali International Diving Professional). Didnt really expect much - hadnt really considered Bali as a top dive destination, but we were blown away - fantastic drift diving, great coral, heaps of marimne life. We were so impressed we booked a 3 day package - they let us pick the sites so we did 2 days at Tulamben - great shipwreck and very easy and convenient diving - just walk out of your room, down the path to the beach and straight into the water. Spent two days there and it was great. We then went to Secret Bay - visibility wasnt great but saw ghost pipefish and heaps of little stuff, lots of stuff we hadnt seen before. We plan on returning and want to book a 5 or 6 day package and will use BIDP again. They were very helpful, professional, knowledgeable about the sites and had a great dive boat for Penida trips and good quality equipment. They seem pretty reputable and have facilities for nitrox and trimix and are registered to take disabled divers also. We checked out a few other companies, some were cheaper but we didnt like their approach too much, other companies seemed mass market orientated, we liked this mob as they were fairly small and flexible to meet our needs.
