I notice from the stoney cove website that the vis is down to 4m. Has anyone been recently? Is it bound to get worse as the month progresses?

viz down prob due to torrential rain yesterday.....I was on the M42 at the bottom of the M69 and got caught in it.....cars down to 20mph on th motorway as we couldnt see anthing the rain was THAT hard!

coupled together with "muchos divers" as its summer, yes, the viz may not get too much better - - best going off peak time in the week!

Went Monday and vis was not great for Stoney - however had gone to Gildy on the Sunday and vis was diabolical there!!!

I was in Gildenpit on Saturday. Had to use my braile slates. :(

Was in guildy a few weeks ago for the first time................never again :eek: .....enough said!

Stoney however was fine when I was up there - it was mid week but non the less it wasn't to bad - vis was approaching 8-9m at its best - at the worse it may have been 5 but i doubt it - remember this was mid week though (best time to go if you ask me! :o )

Well Stoney is pretty poor at the moment. Friday and all weekend it was about 3M :(

I dived stoney last tuesday when the vis was between 10-12 m. An excellent days diving.

Following this I thought I would return on Friday for a nice gentle bimble about with a buddy. Told him how good the vis was. I arrived to vis of no more than 2 metres.

What a let down ? As previously stated, I think the vis was down to excessive rainfall and excessive trainees. I have never seen it so busy as it was on Friday.

On balance the best days at Stoney are always Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You should've been there Sat..... was loads busier than Friday and the guys in the shop told me Sunday was even busier than that!

Given recent rain and the volume of divers I didn't think the vis was that bad though, in deeper sections I'd say we had 4-5 although the 6 metre section was down to 3.
