Red Sea/ Gulf of Aquaba boat trip

Hi,

We are planing a trip to Israel and Egypt in Sept/Oct. 2004 could anyone tell us if it is possible to travel from Cairo to Eliat by boat. If so how long would this take and what would be the cost.

Also is it possible to go from Eliat to Cairo by boat and what is the cost and time involved.

Setting aside the political considerations of travel between these 2 countries, it appears to me that one must transit the Gulf of Eilat/Aqaba, the Northern Red Sea, the Suez Canal and the Nile. 4 days?
