Hi Chris

Welcome. Your email reminded me of 1977 when I was part of the Joint Service underwater excavation team of the Santo Antonio de Tanna, sunk in front of Fort Jesus in 1697. We camped at the Nyali?? showground across the harbour and ferried across to work and dive on the wreck. Haven't been back since. :( Is there still an wreck exhibition in the museum there?

Best wishes

Eddie

Good morning Eddie,
to be frank, I don't like museum :( so I cant tell what is there. But there are a few wrecks in front of Ft. Jesus. We do diving on the "Globe Star" sunk in 1974 or so, lying in about 10 meters on a sandy ground. Why not coming back to Mombasa. You may find allot of changes since 1997 :)
Kind regards
Chris
NB. Sorry for my poor english, my nationality is Swiss (Swiss German from Basel)

Hi Chris

Kein Problem. Man spricht Deutsch! :p

Sorry you do not like the museum at Fort Jesus. AFAIK the 1697 wreck was excavated again during 1978 and then the hull was covered over and left. We lifted artifacts only. They should all be there in the museum. The then curator Mr Hamo Sasoon was left in charge of the conservation.

Okay, the Ft. Jesus museum I have visited some time ago, when I was still a Kenya tourist. But cant remember what was there in details. But am sure that you will find all that history "stuff" :D there. Ft. Jesus is a museum for Kenyans too and they are very proud of that.

Why do you speak German too?

Afraid I cannot help you with information on the forums but I am sure there is someone lurking here who will know.

Are you a BSAC overseas training centre?? You may be better to send on the overseas travel section in the main forum - http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26.

Leider nicht. At this time its very difficult to "feed" my Kenyan staff. We are still suffering from election problems. Hotels are almost 10% full (90% empty :-)) and it looks like it will take some time to get the tourists back as. Its very sad, not only for my business but also for this beautyful country.

@ Pete, thanks for info. That's quite allot...
@ Eddie, we are a BSAC Resort 550. See also http://www.bsactravelclub.co.uk/schools/peponidivers.htm but we do not teach any BSAC courses as i am not a BSAC instructor yet. We do have regularly divers from the BSAC club in Nirobi. They do some dive education at our diving centre.

We don't have a travel agent. Please send email for further info as its usually not allowed to do marketing in a forum. Don't know the "border" in the BSAC forum.

Well if we wait long enough for a forum administrator to come along he could change the thread for us. :o But maybe while we are waiting for a change of website software they cannot do it at the moment.

Sorry Chris but we may have a note of English tongue in cheek (ironisch gemeint) here accompanied by a certain amount of British cynisism (Zynismus) here. :p

Just joking really. :o

If you post an advert every day you will be moderated, however a short link to your website in the signature is in my opinion acceptable providing you are posting relevant info not just rubbish to get your signature shown. Note that this is my very low down the pecking order opinion.
