I have travelled with this lot on 4 occasions (all to Red Sea)Have had no real problems other than the following:-

1.Felt I was being overcharged for water! (I think they wanted something like ?2.50 for a 250ml bottle)On a 6hr flight it is essential to remain well hydrated - do not want to get a DVT or anything like that. Next time I will take my own bottle of water!
2.Entertainment was fine, usual thing however of beng charged for the headsets can't remember what it was but it was around ?2 per headset.

However, when you remember that you are travelling on a budget airline it is vv good value for money. They have to make their money from somewhere. If you work it out on a price per mile basis on the cost of the ticket it will appear vv cheap. Try comparing it to the price of the taxi drivers per mile rate!

The airline is ( unless rules have changed recently) legally obligated to provide water free of charge, though they do not offer it (and obviously do not, given the profit margin on bottled water). Just ask for regular tap water and they will provide you with a free one

Food is good with Excel, the in flight programs are usually 1 week ahead of the cinema with new films. Take your own headsets as they charge for these. Alcohol expensive, again we took a half bottle of gin and bought the tonic off them.

Beware of weight restrictions as we were charged extornionate rates. Anything over 20Kg is charged for, and your hand luggage is also weighed.?5 per kilo. If you don't arrive early at the airport, your baggage may arrive a couple of days after you. In Egypt, it is not weighed at all on your return.

Have flown with them 7 or 8 times, this year is the first time we were charged. They are getting stricter!

Excel now allow an extra 10kg of hold luggage on all flights including Egypt.

I had an email from them in January, but I don't think they have updated their website yet.

I am also travelling with Excel to Egypt in May and they have emailed confirmation that they now offer an extra 10kg weight allowance for divers on all their flights
