Can anyone help?

I have a colleague who is looking to go to the Galapagos later this year. Has anyone suggestions regarding dive operations who dive that area? I get the impression that the range is likely to be quite small, so if anyone can recommend such an operation (with an idea of costs), that would be much appreciated.

Some friends, very experienced divers and not easily impressed, dived the Galapagos last month. They had 10 days on the 35m trimaran Lammer Law, and said it was the best diving they have done. The boat and crew was excellent, they said. The diving around the main islands was good, but the diving at the outliers Wolf and Darwin was head and shoulders above the rest. I didn't ask what they paid, but I had a look at the website (can't remember the URL, use Google)and a 9/10 day trip in 2004/5 is USD3200 to USD3600 depending on season. That excludes flights. They booked direct online. Hope that's helpful.

I went to the Galapagos in 1998 through Hayes & Jarvis. They use the Aggressor fleet for diving and my trip included Wolf and Darwin (an absolute must but be prepared for strong currents). I cannot speak highly enough of the Aggressor boat and crew and in particular the two dive masters who planned the dives and land visits. They had a vast amount of knowledge and enthusiasm (they were both Ecuadorian like the rest of the crew). What I loved about this trip is that they offered 4 dives a day plus about 2 visits onto shore per day to different islands. I cannot understand people who go all that way and only dive....there is so much more to see than just what's underwater. The whole package included 2 nights in Quito on the way out and 1 night on the way back - well worth it. It was an expensive holiday but worth every penny.

Hi Bill
I organise trips to the Galapagos, its hard to do cheap trips there so I try to offer more for the money, I have a trip departing UK on 25th August - 11 days liveaboard & 5 nights hotel - including 5 full days at Wolf/Darwin Islands, if this is of any interest to your friend drop me a line - Andy
