View Full Version : Diving Anglesey
Has anybody shore dived near puffin island?
I am looking for shore dives as close to Mancester as i can and this seems the nearest.
If not can anybody reccomned any shore dives off Anglesey and not the usual Treaddur Bay.

They will get you sorted
I have bith these books but noithing is written about the east area of the Anglsey coast at all as far as shore diving is concerned.
Daron,
I would'nt recommend any shore diving at the north end of the straits due to currents, Puffin Island has really good dives but you need boat cover. There are shore dives at the southern end in and around the the bridges and as far up as the swellies (as far as the guide books tell you) but again unless you get slack water spot on i would suggest boat cover, when it starts to run it can hit 6-7 knots great fun for a drift dive, but again you need a boat with a cox'n who nows what he's doing.

You could try Bulls Bay, 12 to 15m at high tide.
This maybe alittle late, but i live in Rhosneigr, Anglesey, about 2 mins drive from here is CABLE BAY and the bay to its left towards Rhosneigr, My wife and I dive these several times a yr and i love searching the rocks and generally relaxing here, We have seen what i think is a decent variety of life from Jellyfish/spider crabs/plaice/dabs/doggies/shrimp/lobster/pollock and some lovely anenomies (sp). The deepest we have found was around the 12mtr mark, but usually around the 7-9mtr.
Were actually heading of there in a couple of hours.
I hope helps if it is not too late.
