Hi,
Going to the Red Sea for the first time the first week of November and not sure how warm the water is likely to be. Thinking of taking a 3mm full wet suit. Is this likely to be warm enough or would 5mm be better? Please can anyone advise?
Cheers, Mark

Hi Mark,
I think it will make very little difference. The key is you need to look for a full suit which is better than a shortie (look at previous discussions on this forum). I have dived in Late October in the Northern red sea in a 4 mm (sorry between 3 and 5 mm I know!)full steamer and I was toasting warm.
I have also dived there in March and I was glad of my 7 mm semi-dry. I think you need to get to a website which will give you some average water temps. Really anything about 25?C or above will be okay with a full 3 mm, or 4mm, and below that, look to 5mm or 7 mm semi-dry. Below 20?C it's a dry-suit for me!
