Just finishing my Ocean Diver course and will be out in Cyprus soon for a (short:-( ) visit. I am hoping to dive the top of the Zenobia if time allows (less than 20 you see!!)
Anyone got any comments/suggestions/tips?
Thanks
Gordon

Ocean Diver? Have a quick look at your Depth limits first as the 'Z' is 40mtr to the bottom so be carefull suggest you contact Ian At Octopus in Larnaca.

Enjoy

Hi Gordon - this is a brilliant dive and you will not be dissapointed (it is ranked as one of the top 10 dives in the world). Hope you see the huge moray eel that came out to play with us in the sunlight. Safe diving :-)

Thanks Allan, I am aware!
that's why I said "the top of the Zenobia" (16-18m approx I've been told) and "less than 20"
Appreciate the concern tho' no offence meant or taken!

I will be having a careful look at the kit available and how I feel at the time and if either aren't 100% then I'll do something else!! It would just be a shame not to at least see it while I'm in the area anyway. Hopefully whet my appetite for another visit once I've built up some more experience/qualification and can dive it properly...

All the best,
Gordon

Go to it Gordon, with care you will not be disappointed here's the link for Octopus who IMHO are without doubt the masters of the 'Z' and will look after you well.

By the way who are you playing with?

Keep on Divin'

? Don't follow! I'm diving with Cupar SAC here if that's what you meant! If not then... erm... dunno what you mean!
I'm away from tonight but if you want to drop me an email try verminshooter@yahoo.co.uk as long as it's not a huge mail as I may not get to check them for fortnight!!

Thanks for the advice, hopefully I'll get a look at the "Z" but as I said, if it doesn't "feel" right then I'll leave it for another visit ;-)
All the best,
Gordon

We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing...

Having done many many dives on the Zenobia when I lived in Cyprus (Near Larnaca) I can safely say that you will be fine diving the top of the Zenobia which is still very interesting. Lots of port holes to peek into and quite a lot to explore and you can always look over the side as the Viz is normally pretty good.

In addition there are many fine dives around the area, as already mentioned Ian is a very good contact.

Have fun.
