View Full Version : Malta in May
Hi,
Im off to Malta on 17 May 08. Im a lone Padi Advance diver as my partner has yet to learn (!) but he is learning in Malta.
We are stayin in St Pauls area for 1 week.
Any info on dive centres there would also be a great help as i never dived anywhere other than Sharm.
Also if anyone is over and fancy a few dives then please let me know.

If you are staying in the St.Pauls area there a an abundance of dive establishments around, but , I would recomend MaltaAqua on the main road, I have always had excellent service from their friendly efficient staff, check out their website. They are also a bsac school as well as a padi facility.

Hi
Memsahib and I have just returned 03/04/08 from our second trip to Malta, diving with Maltaqua. When we went last year, we had just qualified as Ocean Divers we found them excellant, and returned with greatly increased confidence in our skills.
All the instructors we dived with were very good, but I must mention Antonio in particular. He is Maltese national, and a highly skilled dive instructor, he is justifiably proud of his homeland. Every trip out is enlightening as he takes little detours to show off points of interest.
All our dives were shore dives, which is why we went to Malta, and varied in depth between 10 and 30m, water temp was around 16C, so our 7mm semidries were great.
We stayed in their apartments The Sands, which we found comfortable and clean if rather basic.
If you would like more info, or copy of the report I've written for my club, please sende me a message and I'll email you.

Dived Malta with both Strand and Abyss Divers ( based at the Doleman Hotel).
I would happily dive with either again, they both used the same sites most dives were shore dives, except the commino ones, and all were simple and straight forward.
There is a large choice of centres, I've always picked the ones nearest the hotel - it's easier.

Just returning from a fantastic four days with Maltaqua. From airport transfers, accomodation to the diving itself, all was excellent.
The instructors were top notch, and the ladies in the shop very helpful and friendly. Managed 7 dives inc a night dive in 3 days.
Water temperature was 17 deg at the surface and 16 at depth. Vis was good and the dive highlights were the P29 and the Rozi tug boat.
Will be returning in the future and wouldn't hesitate booking Maltaqua again.

What style and thickness of wet suit would be needed for Malta in mid June?
