Did you know that 2008 has been designated as the International Year of the Reef ?
IYOR 2008 is a year long world-wide campaign of events and activities to raise awareness of the value and importance of coral reefs and to motivate people to take action to protect them. All individuals, corporations, governments, organisations, schools, museums and dive clubs are welcome and actively encouraged to participate in IYOR 2008!
Coral Cay Conservation, on behalf of Reef Conservation UK (RCUK), the designated UK Focal Point for the International Year of the Reef (IYOR) in 2008, is taking on the role of promoting awareness of IYOR 2008 within the UK. We therefore ask whether you would like to join IYOR 2008.
You could start a special IYOR initiative or activity, but you could also tie IYOR in with already planned activities. Alternatively, support the campaign by putting up IYOR posters (available for £5 per 2) at your dive club/shop.
