I'm going to a place called Augeneguin in the south of the island in between Peurto rico and Maspalomas in Nov.
Has anybody dived this area???? I'm diving with an outfit called scubasur(I think) they are are based in my hotel.
If anybody has dived here I would appreciate recommended dive sites, wrecks etc. and any other advice or experiences welcome!!!!
Many thanx

Hi John - I can recommend a Danish outfit in PR which is just across the bay from Argineguin call AQUANAUTS. I dived with them Oct 2001 and they were first class. Ask for Yan who is a first class, safety conscious dive master and an honour to dive with - and he has a great sense of humour! The best dive by far is EL CABRON (known locally as the bastard dive) because the entry can be awkward but not too difficult by British diving standards. I was gobsmacked by the quality and quantity of the fish life around there and there are tons of moray eels. You'll even see some branch coral!! I dived around the area 4 times and would do it again. It's worth forking out the extra pennies!! I can recommend a good website for PR (owen100.com) check out the diving section - it's awesome and will certainly get you looking forward to your vacation. Safe diving!!! If you need any other info let me know (I own a timeshare in Anfi del Mar).

I dived in Gran Canaria in Feb this year and the place to be is in the El Cabron Marine reserve. The life is great and very spectacular. Its mainly shore diving but believe you me you will not be disappointed. The people I dived with are based in Aranaga which is about 1.5 mile from the Marine reserve. They can provide everthing you need from full equipment to transport and I believe they are the only BSAC school in GC. You can contact them on www.davyjonesdiving.com. They are Brits so they know exactly what you want from your diving. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
