Ok guys,
I like it so far,but am a bit lost about the option on your profile regarding
"Public Groups"
What are these and where are they?

No chance of a spell checker being built in ;)

I've just been ignoring that bit until someone starts using it, or asks what it's for.

Thanks Purdy.

When you find out can you let the rest of us know.

Cheers,
Tristan

Public Groups

We're not using them yet but we will be. What happens is the forums that you can see (like the BSAC Members ones) are due to the groups that you belong to, you can see the BSAC Members stuff because you belong to private system groups that let you see them.

What we can do is rather than have loads of specialist (say) forums cluttering the main list we hide them and make the group who can see them publicly joinable, that way people can decide which groups they want to see and use for themselves.

Another thing we will be doing is having public groups that you can join with the permission of the group manager. We have a forum for Coaching and ITS that we hope to run like that, so if you're an area coach or are interested in joining coaching you can ask the group manager for access.

So that's what they are for, they are so that people can subscribe to specialist forums if they want to, they can also be used for private forums that you have to apply to the manger if you want access.

Hope that explains it
