North East Derbyshire SAC had a roller coaster 7 trailer stolen from the Mountbatten Centre at Plymouth on Eater Sunday. The trailer had a triple locking hitch lock, a whelel clamp and was chained and padlocked to another trailer.

We have had to leave the boat at Plymouth, buy a new trailer and will be going back to fetch the boat this weekend.

Please keep an eye out and take care yourselves. I'd suggest that you leave trailers in a secure compound or at least make sure that thet are covered by CCTV.

It's a long time since I've heard of a trailer stolen from there, iIRC that was recovered fairly quickly. Having read some of the boating sites, theives are not at all bothered about being recorded.

How did they get through the locks? We use Mountbatten a lot.

They used boltcroppers to get through the chain. No sign of the wheel clamp, so we assume that the trailer was put on the back of a truck or flatbed or similar. The car park is not covered by CCTV and no one saw anything as far as we know, so we don't really know how it was done.
