i looking to get involed in the diving world and needed some help to get started.
where best to go and how, what to do.
i live in guildford and whould like to find a friendly club to join.

Just click on: www.bsac.com, and you can find a branch listed in your area. Pop along on their branch night, and I'm sure they'll make you most welcome.

As for 'best', well that may depend on your own requirements, time, money etc. I suggest to try a few clubs to see how you fell about them.

if you are a student. the university has a diving club (which i'm part of)
if not, guildford has its own BSAC branch.
