can anyone please tell me how big a place Sharm is or how far Sharks Bay Hotel is from Red sea diving college.

AFAIK, R.S.D.C is in Na'ama Bay and Sharks Bay is a resort out towards the airport, probably 10-15 mins drive away.
Na'ama Bay is the "main bit" (commercialised!) of Sharm, if you stay there you can walk everywhere & won't need to go anywhere else. There are more (cheaper) hotels on the Ras Um Sid Headland, about 10 min drive from N.Bay in the opposite direction to airport, on the way to the Travco jetty (used for big boats & trips to Ras Mohamed, Thistlegorm etc)which is in "Old Sharm", a less touristy area. Taxis are very cheap if you do need to travel.
