Hi everyone,
Can anybody recommend some good sites in the Lake District, I'm off to Capernwray in a couple of weeks and a couple of the snorkellers and possibly some of the divers from my club would like to go and have a look. Both Coniston and Ullswater have been suggested. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Robin

Hi,

Try the Go Scuba link here - good info about various lakes.

Only dived Crummock myself - rather brown and empty but worth it for the change. Certainly a nice location (a lack of howling gale/horizontal rain would help of course...).

Be careful of the altitudes (and for the drive home as I know some of the roads to the lakes go over high passes).

Crommock and Waste Water get my vote as good sites for diver training. Neither have much to see under the water, but the scenery above it can be stunning. See atached of Crummock last month.
