.dive show comming up whats the ukc8led like is it worth getting or anything better for the same price n same burn time ect.
poseiden jetstream or cycklon?
Ummmm the world's your oyster with torches. Loads on offer. I've been really impressed with the Tektite 5W aluminium LS4 (Lumb Bros say hello to Rob and Wally).
Poseidons- I wouldn't have them but if you want to choose between JS or Cykon then I'd go for the Cyklons. I had a JS and hated it. Rubbish breathe in anything but deep water, horrible purge and expensive to service.

Another vote for the Tektite. Tremendous. The body is hewn from a single lump of metal, the light is plenty bright as a main beam for most dives.

Ive had breathes on both and my gut reaction was that the Jetstreams were a better breathe.
Have you used Poseidons before? They are an aquired taste IMO.

I used to have two sets of Cyclons and liked them a lot. The large mouthpiece is difficult for some. I only got rid of mine because of horrendous servicing costs.

Hi guys,
Again another one who wouldn't go for Poseidons - bad experiences with them. I also found them to be 'leaky' more than not and generally not easy or nice to breathe from. I have a set of Apeks XTX for cold water diving and find these to be an excellent set of regs if you would consider anything but Poseidons?
Hope this helps

I'll wade in in favour of cyklons. If you use them regularlly and have them serviced by someone who understands them they will give you no problems - mine never have done, anyway. The ferocious breathe they are famous for is what happens when they have been set up to work that way - it's trivial to set them up so they breathe just as a normal regulator.

BenI think you've hit the nail on the head there.
If you leave them in your kit bag for 4 months over winter expect them to freeflow like crazy when you take them out for the first time followed shortly by a £100 servicing bill.
Apeks seem to live perfectly well on neglect.

I use Cyclones on my bale out regs, as I do not use the all the time I am forever taking them apart to clean them. I would not now recomenend them.

I have XTX 50 and XTX 40 Octopus on my set up, well impressed with them, I have also got a set of Jetsteams with a leaky first stage. bought them second hand and had no problem with them until I had them serviced, the first stage leaks from the hole at the bottom but not all the time, I have sent them back in three times now for repair to no avail.I gave up on them after the last time they came back, because even if they had repaired them properly, I would have given them a vote of no confidence. £120. for service and no result:(
Hence that is why I bought the XTXs.
Dont wish to say who serviced My Jetstreams, but I dont use my LDS anymore.
I will bide Mytime now until I can afford to buy a new first stage for My Jetstreams, I will at least have a spaire set of regs then.
Sorry for the rant.
