A liveaboard from either of the ports would do! ;) I would say Sharm but I maybe wrong. Whichever, it is a long trip, requiring arising early.

Only way I have done the Thistlegorm is on a Liveaboard which gives you that rosy glow as you arrive on-site just as the day boats are departing or when they are arriving the next morning just as you are leaving. The Thistlegorm at 0630 in the morning is pure magic. :)

Enjoy it whichever way you do it! :p

I you go from sharm it will be an early start.

Try ocean college dive centre - they are running mini-safaris' to T'gorm - on wednesdays if memory serves. You go out on wed, you dive in Ros mo on way out, T'gorm in the afternoon, and overnight (I think), then a couple of dives in the morning before returning. To be honest, though, I'd just do a full liveaboard if it were me.

I went out with Emperor in the morning to the thistlegorm from sharm.

You left at 4am in the monring  however you just find a corner on the dive boat and get your head down, tip if u do that, take a blanket from your hotel room as it gets a little cool.

Then have breakfast on the boat and a dive, lunch and then a dive and back in.

I enjoyed it, was a long day but quite dooable.

Well worth paying the extra for Nitrox and a 15 litre.

Have fun.

Gareth.
