Deposited by the corner of the water tank at the western end of Vobster Quay at about 28m on the 17th of february 2008.

Pouch from a Glide 2000 BCD containing 1x Green 3kg shot and 1x black 2kg shot.

Forced to leave both weight pouches. One found but searches proved fruitless for the second left right beside the first - too silty!

Hopeful somebody might stray across it! Bounty offered for its finder :)

Hi Euan

planning a vobster trip next week, so will look out for it!!!

funny old thing, but i use a scubapro t-force BC, had similar probs and lost a pouch in the red sea last november, luckily another diver in the buddy pair behind me noticed and got it back for me!

heard its quite common with scuba pro BC's - - now i have less weight in the pouch and more on weightbelt harness - - think scuba pro say max of 5kgs in each side!

Appreciate you having a look if you manage down that end of the quarry Nick - it is certainly the quieter end! I was holding onto a corner of the tank so it cannot have gone far.

It was an intentional removal of weight this time, but I would agree about the pockets being under-spec with 5kg each.

I recently bought a 'dumpable' pocket ND harness with the intention of putting 70% in that with the rest in the BC to trim. I ran out of time to get it nicely adjusted so went for the pockets and rear pouches in the BC yesterday.

Still - it was a learning experience!

Finding and retrieving something heavy from the bottom is a challenge in itself and an interesting diversion from just pootling - best of luck!

Let me know how you get on - I would rather pay out in crates of beer to reward a recreational salvage than to Scubapro and the Lead shot man!

Cheers
