Hi,
Our branch - Vale Royal Sub-Aqua Club from Cheshire were planning diving Skye in late August this year.
Unfortunately Dive & Sea the Hebrides (the local dive operator) are fully booked and have no capacity to supply us with air if we go the week that we've got most branch interest (w/c 16/8/03). Does anyone know anywhere else on Skye we could get air fills (without taking a hire compressor if we can avoid it)?
Any assistance gratefully received!
Cheers,
Dave.

I went to dive Port Napier last year and checked out available air. I was told that the Fire Brigade at Kyle of Lochalsh will fill bottles. The Harbourmaster also advised me of this to worth contacting him. Technically this is not Skye but not too far away. However in end I didnt try this out. Also not sure if they would fill 24 bottles a day for a full week.

Dave,
You can get air fills on Skye from either the Skye boat centre near Broadford (01471 822070) or try Norman Thorpe who is a local commercial diver, he is near Portree (01478 612274). I always use Norman (he lives next door!) and the fills are always good.

Dave,
Try giving the guys at the Skye Boat Centre a ring on:
01471 822 070
They are based a few miles north of Broadford which is in the middle of the island.
They have a website too: www.skyeboatcentre.co.uk
Cheers
