As many of you will know Orca gather in the Norweigan fjords from Oct to Jan/Feb every year to feast on herring there.

Last year in conjunction with the Tysfjord Tourist centre and NORCA (Norweigan Orca project)I travelled to the area for a couple of days and managed to get some very interesting encounters with these truly majestic mammals.

Planning ahead I propose to organise a 3-4 day trip (ie long weekend) next year (November/December) for divers interested in getting in the water with these animals.
Snorkelling is the only practical method as encounters are usually brief / requiring speed of movement (eg. entry to water) and these creatures do not like bubbles.

Costs will kept to a minimum and will depend on numbers.

It is likely that we will fly to Oslo then take an internal flight north to Evenes. On arrival in Evenes we will move by hire vehicles to Tysfjord where we will take 2 trips out over 2 days leaving on the afternoon of the 2nd day.
Accomodation is available in Tysfjord itself and ranges from private rooms to 4 sharing a self contained hotel flat with 4 beds and a small kitchen area / fridge.

People interested should contact me by e-mail along with suitable weekends that they have in November or early December.
It is likely that we will fly on a Friday and return on the Monday. It may be possible for us to return late on the Sunday.

Best regards,
Ben.
